DM Pack’s DRON horizontal tray-packing and wraparound machines are compact, versatile automated packaging solutions. Their main function is to pick up and form the tray/flat case, then fill it with the pre-grouped products that have been positioned in the desired configuration. The DRON tray packers can be equipped with different loading, grouping and stacking systems, depending on the required performance and type of product. Once the required configuration has been created, the case is transported to the closing station, where the flaps are sealed and closed with a dab of hot glue, thanks to the “hot melt” system. The DRON tray-packing machines are available in both intermittent and continuous versions, as a means of offering usage options to suit specific requirements.
General characteristics
The DRON horizontal tray-packing and wraparound machines are compact, versatile and able to work with a wide range of different products. The height of the box storage area is automatically adjustable and the length can easily be adjusted by means of knobs and a millimetre scale, which allows for quick and easy format changes. The same machine is able to create and fill trays, wraparound boxes, tray displays and boxes with lids. For the continuous version, the cardboard storage area can be positioned at the bottom, so that the unfolded boxes rise from below and position themselves precisely underneath the multipack that the machine will have formed in the meantime. The accessible design makes cleaning and maintenance easier, whilst the rotating touchscreen can be used from both sides of the machine.
Specific characteristics
The machine can be equipped with additional loading systems, such as stackers, groupers, diverters, etc. In the intermittent version, the boxes are opened by means of suction cups and the multipack is inserted into the tray or box via a pick & place or robotic system. The flaps are then sealed with a dab of hot-melt glue, thanks to the hot-melt system.
With DRON's horizontal tray-packing and wraparound machines, flat boxes can be processed to create wraparound-type boxes, tray displays, trays and boxes with an internal or external lid. The standard box/tray dimensions range from a minimum of 170 x 100 x 100 mm to a maximum of 600 x 600 x 400 mm. Larger or smaller formats are available on request. The machine is available in an intermittent or continuous version, and can also be used in bypass mode.
