Compact Automatic Robotic Palletizer

The TRON AXIS compact robotic palletizer by DM Pack is a fully automatic solution designed to guarantee high palletizing efficiency with a reduced footprint, making it ideal for end-of-line applications in limited spaces. The system is equipped with an ABB IRB 460 robotic arm, which picks boxes arriving from the upstream line and places them on the pallet according to predefined patterns, ensuring speed, precision and operational flexibility. The palletizer integrates a second bay dedicated to the automatic application of interlayer sheets, improving load stability and palletizing quality. The compact layout facilitates integration even in production environments with space constraints, while pallet changeover is managed manually by the operator once the pallet is complete. Thanks to the advanced QuickMove™ and TrueMove™ control systems, the TRON AXIS palletizer guarantees smooth and accurate movements, allowing safe handling even of delicate products. Programming and layout simulations are further simplified through ABB RobotStudio with Palletizing PowerPac, enabling quick and efficient configuration of the palletizing process.

Thanks to numerical servo control with brushless motors and high-quality inverters, the system ensures operational reliability and smooth, consistent movements, even at high production rates. The robot picks products directly from the infeed conveyor and places them precisely on the pallet, supporting multi-level configurations and complex palletizing patterns.

Palletizing patterns can be stored through self-learning or manually loaded from the touch screen, enabling simple and fast management of programmes ready for automatic production.

The TRON AXIS palletizer integrates a mini safety barrier and a compact design, facilitating installation even in existing production lines and limited spaces, offering an efficient and versatile solution for industrial end-of-line automation.
Specific characteristics
The ABB IRB 460 palletizing robot, integrated into the TRON AXIS compact robotic palletizer, is designed to guarantee high performance and maximum productivity in automatic end-of-line systems. Thanks to a 2.4-metre reach and a payload capacity of up to 60 kg, the system can reach up to 2,190 cycles/hour, offering high palletizing speed even in intensive applications.

The compact design allows installation in limited spaces, contributing to a productivity increase of up to 3% compared with traditional solutions. The integration of QuickMove™ and TrueMove™ software ensures fast, smooth and highly precise movements, enabling controlled handling even of delicate products.

The robust robot structure and fully integrated cabling guarantee long-term reliability, reducing maintenance costs and improving operational continuity. Programming and simulation of palletizing cycles are simplified thanks to RobotStudio with Palletizing PowerPac, which can reduce programming times by up to 80%.

Combined with the FlexGripper gripper, the system offers a complete, fast and accurate solution for automatic end-of-line palletizing, adapting to a wide range of products, layouts and load patterns.
